Information Technology

The objective of this course is to provide opportunities for our students to become independent learners and critical thinkers.

Grades 1 – 3 will be introduced to the different hardware and software vocabulary. Using a drawing application, students will become familiar with how to use toolbars and strengthen their mouse skills. Students will also receive instruction on how to type properly. Grade 3 students will be introduced to word processing applications.

Grades 4 – 5 will continue to strengthen their typing skills throughout the year. They will apply these skills in a word processor application and learn the different functions available through a variety of mini-projects. Students will also learn how to use the Internet effectively.
